What is GrowLine?

Spraying at the wrong time wastes money and can cost you your crop. If rain comes soon after you spray, the chemicals are washed off. GrowLine checks the weather for your farm and sends you a simple SMS: spray now, or wait. You don't need a smartphone to receive it, and the pilot is free.

Why are we asking for your details?

We are starting with tomato farmers in South-West Nigeria. To send advice that fits your farm, we need to know who you are, where your farm is, and roughly how big it is. Later we will ask whether the messages were right, so we can make GrowLine better for you.

    Give your best guess. It does not need to be exact.

Then we start sending your spray advice by SMS.

Common questions

Do I have to pay?

No. GrowLine is free during this pilot.

Do I need a smartphone to get the advice?

No. You only need a phone that can receive text messages. You need a smartphone with internet just once, to register on this page.

Why do you need my location?

Weather can be different from one town to the next. Your farm location lets us check the weather where your tomatoes actually are.

What if I can't stand in the middle of my farm?

Stand as close to the middle as you can. A few steps off is fine.

What if my farm is a strange shape or very big?

Just give your best guess of the size. We use it only to estimate where your farm is.

Is my information safe?

Yes. We use your details only for GrowLine and do not share your phone number with advertisers.
